| Description: | Domaine Berrien Farms is an 80 acre fruit farm located in Berrien County, Michigan, in the heart of southwest Michigan's scenic Wine Country. Our vineyard development began in 1992, when tart cherry orchards on the site were first replaced with vinifera grape vines. Currently, 26 acres have been converted to high quality wine grapes, 8 acres are planted in Niagara juice grapes, and 20 acres are still planted in tart cherries. The vineyard master at Domaine Berrien Farms is committed to quality, and is constantly trying new techniques and vineyard systems, such as special trellising/training systems, shoot positioning, thinning, double pruning, leaf plucking, and cane laydown. The goal of all of these special care practices is the same: to produce high quality grapes that will make high quality wines for the enjoyment of our customers. | ||||||
