| Description: | All of Newport Vineyard's original grapevine selections were carefully chosen to match our unique site characteristics and cool climate. Varietals were chosen by specific clone and grafted with a rootstock that balances soil conditions with the natural vigor of the grapevine. All materials were special ordered from the most reputable nurseries, mainly in Ontario, Canada. We currently grow three clones of Chardonnay (two of which are "Dijon" clones), two Merlot clones, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, and Lemberger (a red vinifera from Austria). | ||||||
